The Evil Dead Casting News

Bloody-Disgusting exclusively reports that Ghost House and Mandate Pictures are currently in final negotiations with actress, Lily Collins (Priest, The Blind Side, Phil effing-Collins' daughter) to star as Mia, the drug addict who becomes possessed, in the reboot of "The Evil Dead".

The remake, which will begin filming in March 2012, will most likely feature other familiar faces, as Ghost House and Mandate are hoping to cast well known celebrities. The movie follows a group of young adults who venture to a cabin in order to help their friend detox. While there, the group finds The Book of the Dead and all hell breaks loose--literally.

The film is set for an April 12, 2013 release date and will be directed by Fede Alvarez. The script is being finalized by Oscar winner, Diablo Cody. Yuck.

I've already expressed my outrage over this remake, particularly for the lack of an Ash character, so, I could really care less who they cast in the film. Deep down I do hope that it succeeds and it is an entertaining story, however, I know that it will not be. I have no faith at all because the storyline already sounds awful and too serious to even be compared to the 1981 classic.

Are you excited about this casting news?
