Evil Dead Remake Loses its Star

Variety reports that the Evil Dead remake has already lost star Lily Collins; the Mirror Mirror actress has reportedly dropped out of the remake due to scheduling conflicts. Hmmm, maybe this is a sign that the film shouldn't be made.

Collins was set to star as Mia, a drug addicted young adult who is taken to a cabin in the woods to detox(Um, okay. That's super campy and hilarious, just like the original. So, that makes total sense). While at the cabin, the group stumbles upon The Book of the Dead and possession ensues. The actress' character was supposed to be set up as the new "Ash", only less funny. I personally still cannot get over the fact that there is no Ash in this remake.

The film is being directed by Fede Alvarez and the script is being revised by Juno-scribe, Diablo Cody. Now with the loss of its star, audiences may start to worry whether or not the movie is still going to release on April 12, 2013. Me? I could really care less.
