Re5ident Evil: Retribution Update!

As many of you already know, I LOVE ZOMBIES, and I love the Resident Evil franchise just as much. I'm more a fan of the earlier games rather than the films, however, I still get excited to see where Paul W.S. Anderson takes the series that I hold near and dear to my heart. Lucky for me, Sony Screen Gems released new details on the upcoming 5th installment in the zombie franchise, Re5ident Evil: Retribution!

The film, which will be in 3D, follows Alice as she continues her quest to uncover the truth of the Umbrella Corporation and attempt to take down those who are responsible for the zombie outbreak. Sony's statement is as follows:

"The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race's last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun."

Returning this time around are Sienna Guilleroy, who played Jill Valentine, Shawn Roberts as Wesker, Oded Fehr, Michelle Rodriguez, and many more. I'm not exactly sure how some of those characters will be brought back, considering that several died and/or were turned into zombies. Maybe there will be flashbacks?

Either way, I can't wait for this film, because I actually enjoy this franchise. I just wish that part 2 would have been better because I would have loved to have seen more of Raccoon city and Nemesis, my favorite villain from the series. I can't wait to see where Anderson takes us this time around and what elements from the game are included in the film!

Re5ident Evil: Retribution hits theaters September 4, 2012.
