American Horror Story Casting Update

Craving American Horror Story season 2 news? Well, you're in luck because the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, revealed that five cast members from the first season will be returning. Murphy debuted the news Friday night at Paleyfest.

Murphy revealed very early on that fan favorite, Jessica Lange, who played the evil, conniving and totally irresistible Constance, will be seen in the show's sophomore season. Just a few days ago Murphy explained that the second season will revolve around her character, which will be completely different from the Harmon's next door neighbor.

At Paleyfest, Murphy informed the audience that Lange will be returning along with Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Lily Rabe, who were all featured in the first season. Quinto played an unhappy gay man who was murdered by the Rubber man, who was later revealed to be Tate, played by Peters. Tate was everyone's favorite psychotic misunderstood boyfriend who just wanted to be loved. Paulson played Billie Dean, the psychic-medium who helped to reveal important information about the spirits in the murder house while Rabe played Nora Montgomery, the original owner of the cursed mansion.

There is no word yet as to what type of role each actor will play or who else Murphy is looking to cast for the next season, however, it is very clear that it will be the Jessica Lange show, as it rightly was in the first season. Season two will take place at a horror "institution" on the East Coast and will most likely premiere in October, just in time for Halloween.
