Zombie Apocalypse Theme Park

Zombie enthusiasts alike have always loved participating in events revolving around their favorite undead creature and Mark Siwak believes that passion may help make Detroit some money. The options for zombie fans to gather are few as of now, including zombie walks and capture-the-flag style races; however, if Siwak can raise $145,000, he would like to create a zombie apocalypse theme park that is sure to satiate the appetite of any horror fan.

Siwak has started a fundraiser on IndieGoGo in effort to raise the necessary funds to create a live-action zombie theme park set in an abandoned Detroit neighborhood. The fund has raised $2,788 of the $145,000 and only has 39 days left to meet his goal. If he meets his goal, Siwak will create a park, Z World, where customers can pay to be chased by a horde of (actor) zombies through a specific area in a desolate section of the city where they must seek shelter in the available places.

The Z World visionary hasn't exactly gotten permission from the city of Detroit, nor has he made enough money yet; however, he has already received several applications for people looking for employment at the park. Siwak stated on his site, "While zombies are great, the real neat thing about this project is the potential to inject some life into a forgotten neighborhood - with the opportunity to work with neighborhood groups and organization."

If Siwak's dreams come true, his park will be added alongside the Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse, a paintball gun park where customers shoot at the undead in an abandoned truck stop, as well as the Zombie Experience in the U.K. where customers can pay to experience an apocalypse at an abandoned shopping mall.

Zombies are IN right now and I think that Siwak's idea sounds awesome, I'm just not sure how well it would work, especially in Detroit. The park is costly to make and it may make the city some money but who would want to do that in Detroit? I'd be afraid of actually being murdered. I keed, I keed!

If you would like to see a zombie theme park made--and who wouldn't--then head over to IndieGoGo to make a donation!
